Step 5# Free Up Drive Space

You won’t be able to install the newest updates if your computer’s hard disc is insufficiently large. If this is the case, clearing up disc space may be able to help you fix the error code 0x800705aa on Windows 11.

Essentially, when you free up disc space on your hard drive, you get rid of unnecessary files and data pieces. This improves the performance of your computer and allows you to install more programmes and updates without difficulty.

To free up drive space on Windows 11, follow these steps:

1. In the search area of your taskbar, type Disk Clean-up and click Open.

2. Under the Files to delete option, pick the files you want to delete.

Step6# Install the Updates Manually

Another option for resolving the problem is to manually install the offending update. Any update that is causing you problems can be manually downloaded and installed from the update catalogue.

This is essentially a workaround for the problem code rather than a troubleshooting solution.

1. Go to the Microsoft Update Catalog with your browser open.

2. In the search field on your screen, type the required update name and press Enter.

3.Now, depending upon your device type, install the update by clicking on the Download button.

4. After you’ve downloaded the file, run it and follow the instructions to complete the installation. This will help you bypass the error 0x800705aa.

Step7# Clean Boot Windows

In some circumstances, a background application inhibits you from conducting routine system tasks, such as installing the most recent updates. This could be true in your case as well, which is why troubleshooting should be done in a Clean Boot condition.

By launching Windows with only a few drivers and startup apps, you can see if a background software interferes with your game or programme.

However, before attempting a clean boot, try starting Windows in Safe Mode and doing the operation that generated the error. If the problem does not appear in Safe Mode, try a Clean Boot.

  1. Press Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open a Run dialogue box.
  2. In the text field of the dialogue box, type msconfig and hit Enter.
  3. Head over to the General tab and select Selective startup.

  4. Now uncheck Load startup items option.
  5. Now go to the Services tab.
  6. Check the box against Hide all Microsoft services and then click on the Disable all button.

  7. Tap Apply & then tap OK
  8. Finally, restart your PC and check if the 0x800705aa issue persists.

Step8# Repair Install or Clean Install

You have no alternative but to reinstall the system files if none of the procedures outlined in this article have worked for you and you are still unable to install the update. You can do so using the Repair and Clean install options.

Clean installation — Using this option, you will reinstall Windows. If you desire a fresh start, this is a fantastic strategy to use. However, any personal files you previously kept on the same partition as Windows will be lost.

Repair installation – You can use an in-place repair technique to replace any corrupted Windows file while keeping your personal files (including applications and games). This procedure, however, is a little time-consuming.

If none of the above methods have worked, we recommend utilising Restoro Repair Tool, which can scan repositories and repair corrupt and missing data. This works in the vast majority of cases where the problem is caused by a system flaw. Restoro will also maximise the performance of your system.
