Installing macOS Monterey Beta On Your Compatible Mac

- Advertisment -

macOS Monterey (mac OS 12) is Apple’s operating system’s new major release. It includes a slew of new features and enhancements, including Universal Control, a redesigned Safari, SharePlay, and more. Want to see what’s new in the latest macOS Monterey release before it’s released to the public, such as the Studio Display webcam fix? Learn how to install macOS Monterey beta by following the steps below.

Let’s take a look at all of the new features in MacOS Monterey.

1. FaceTime Upgrade

You can also use Apple’s spatial audio if you have an M1-powered MacBook and any of the current-generation AirPods. During group FaceTime chats, you’ll hear people’s voices based on their location on the screen’s grid; this is Apple’s attempt to make the call sound more natural as if they’re in the room with you.

2. Universal Control

Do you have an iPad? If you position the iPad next to your Mac, you can move the cursor directly to the iPad’s screen, drag and drop items between the two, and type everything with one mouse and keyboard. Universal Control, unlike Apple’s SideCar feature, which turns your iPad into a second Mac screen, allows both devices to run their own operating systems at the same time. The capability was added to MacOS Monterey 12.3 for the first time.

3. Focus Mode

Do you have a tendency to become easily distracted? With Apple’s new Focus mode, you can create profiles on your Mac to limit which notifications and alerts you receive. You can choose from a number of pre-set profiles, including Do Not Disturb, Commuting, Driving, Personal, Sleep, and Work, or build a new profile for hobbies like reading or gaming. In iMessage, there’s also a feature that lets people know when you’re in Focus mode (to dissuade them from messaging you). When you turn on a Focus, it turns on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch as well (though you can turn this off if you want). Here’s where you can learn more about how to utilize it.

4. iCloud+

You’ve already been upgraded to iCloud+ for free if you have an iCloud subscription. The service includes Hide My Email (which creates burner email identities to avoid spam in your inbox) and better HomeKit Secure Video features. It also has iCloud Private Relay (now in beta, with a final version on the approaching), a feature that encrypts your Safari browser history, similar to a virtual private network, to keep your data safe.

5. Shared With You

If your friends and relatives send you a lot of links and photos during the week, this application might help you stay organized. When you open apps like Messages, Photos, Safari, Apple Music, and Apple News, you’ll see a section called Shared With You. It’s the place  where you’ll retain all of the materials you’ve received, as well as the sender’s contact information.

6. Safari Tab Groups:

Do your tabs hold any emotional value for you? Here’s a bonus feature for you. You may use Tab Groups to manage all of your open tabs while also making your Safari window look cleaner. You may name each group based on topics like Shopping or Work, and then add tabs to each one using the Tab Group button. The feature syncs across all of your Apple devices, ensuring that you always have access to your Tab Groups.
