Spatial computing is revolutionizing the way professionals, developers, and enthusiasts interact with digital content in the physical world. The NVIDIA CloudXR 6.0 suite of streaming technologies, now integrated with Apple Vision Pro, is opening up a world of possibilities for applications in various industries.
At the recent NVIDIA GTC global AI conference in San Jose, NVIDIA and Apple announced the integration of NVIDIA CloudXR with foveated streaming on Apple Vision Pro. This advancement allows for high-resolution, low-latency immersive content to be displayed on the device, optimizing rendering resolution based on user gaze data while maintaining privacy.
Apple Vision Pro’s spatial computing capabilities combined with NVIDIA RTX technology deliver high-fidelity, immersive visuals in real-time. This integration has already been adopted by leading software providers like Autodesk, Innoactive, Synopsys, Trifork, X-Plane, and iRacing, enabling enterprises such as Roche, Foxconn, and Switch, as well as automotive giants like Kia, BMW Group, Rivian, and Volvo Group to visualize 3D assets and simulations with photorealism.
The collaboration between Autodesk and Innoactive has led to the development of Immersive for Autodesk VRED, a groundbreaking application that transforms the design review process for automotive companies. By visualizing massive models with RTX-powered ray tracing at a 1:1 scale in Apple Vision Pro, designers can collaborate in real-time and make confident decisions faster.
Innoactive CEO, Daniel Seidl, highlighted the importance of immersive spatial computing in enterprise workflows, while Karim Habib, Executive Vice President of Kia Global Design, emphasized the benefits of evaluating designs at full size with greater clarity and speed using NVIDIA CloudXR for visionOS.
Volvo Group Design has embraced spatial computing to shape the future of transportation by experiencing designs digitally before building physical prototypes. Similarly, Roche is using Autodesk Revit and NVIDIA Omniverse libraries with CloudXR for visionOS to simulate biofluid analysis labs, while Foxconn is visualizing factory-floor layouts with this technology.
MHP, a management and IT consultancy, is leveraging Synopsys Ansys Discovery 3D product simulation software and Omniverse to simulate aerodynamics airflow in real-time. Switch, in collaboration with Trifork, is demonstrating an Omniverse digital twin of its EVO AI Factories to optimize infrastructure within a spatial environment.
For developers and simulation enthusiasts, CloudXR for visionOS offers a seamless streaming framework for high-fidelity, RTX-powered titles like iRacing and X-Plane on Apple Vision Pro. This integration is now available to developers as a native streaming framework for Swift, enabling the development of consumer and enterprise apps within Xcode.
Overall, the integration of NVIDIA CloudXR with Apple Vision Pro is paving the way for a new era of spatial computing, transforming workflows across industries and providing users with immersive, high-fidelity experiences like never before.
