Panic Stations, a game development company, has recently announced the upcoming release of their new slapstick puzzle-platformer game, Frog Sqwad. Set to launch in June 2026, Frog Sqwad will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud, and will also be included in the Xbox Game Pass library.

Frog Sqwad offers players the opportunity to control silly frogs with sticky tongues in a fun and chaotic multiplayer environment. Up to 8 players can join in the madness, swinging, jumping, and catapulting their way through various challenges and obstacles in the game.

The idea for Frog Sqwad came to life when Panic Stations set out to create a game that focused on maximizing fun per minute. The team at Panic Stations worked closely together, with everyone getting hands-on in the development process to ensure a fast-paced and enjoyable gaming experience.

The game’s Design Director, Joe Walsh, emphasized the importance of creating engaging character controls and mechanics that allowed players to work together in entertaining ways. The use of tongue physics in the game added a unique element to the gameplay, leading to hilarious multiplayer interactions.

Art Director, Dan Hoang, took a different approach to the game’s aesthetics, opting for a more lighthearted and colorful design. The frog characters were designed to be highly saturated and bold, creating a memorable visual experience for players.

Animator Kashif Ahmed brought the frogs to life with expressive animations, making the game both visually appealing and entertaining. The team at Panic Stations focused on ensuring that playtesting sessions were filled with laughter and fun, indicating that they were on the right track with the game’s development.

Engineering Director, Steve Taylor, implemented a custom procedural generation system for creating sewer layouts in the game. This system allowed for hand-crafted rooms to be connected seamlessly, providing players with challenging and engaging environments to explore.

As the development of Frog Sqwad progressed, the team discovered the importance of creating rooms with clear identities and active goals. This approach enhanced the cooperative gameplay experience, encouraging players to work together to overcome obstacles and complete objectives.

The game’s sewer environments were initially designed to be maze-like, but the team opted for a simpler layout to improve navigation and overall gameplay experience. By focusing on intuitive level design and engaging mechanics, Panic Stations was able to create a more enjoyable and accessible game environment for players.

With the upcoming release of Frog Sqwad on Xbox platforms, Panic Stations is excited to invite players to join in the fun and experience the chaotic world of silly frogs. Whether swinging from vines, launching teammates, or exploring mysterious sewers, players can look forward to a hilarious and entertaining gaming experience.

Stay tuned for the release of Frog Sqwad in June 2026 and get ready to embark on a friendslop adventure like never before. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to become a frog with your friends and enjoy hours of laughter and fun in this exciting new game.
