NVIDIA Unveils Blackwell Ultra AI Platform, Revolutionizing AI Infrastructure and Capabilities
NVIDIA has taken a significant step forward in the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) by announcing its latest innovation, the NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra platform. This new development is set to redefine the landscape for AI reasoning, a critical component in the next generation of AI technology. The NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra platform is designed to enhance training and test-time scaling inference. The platform is built upon the Blackwell architecture, first introduced a year ago, and includes two critical components: the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 rack-scale solution and the NVIDIA HGX B300 NVL16 system. The former provides 1.5 times the AI performance of its predecessor, the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72, while also increasing the potential revenue for AI factories by 50 times compared to those using the older NVIDIA Hopper platform.

The NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 system is a powerhouse, integrating 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs and 36 Arm-based NVIDIA Grace CPUs into a cohesive rack-scale design. This configuration acts as a single, expansive GPU, optimized for test-time scaling. The increased compute capacity allows AI models to explore diverse solutions to complex problems, resulting in more nuanced and high-quality responses.
Moreover, the GB300 NVL72 will be available on NVIDIA DGX Cloud, an all-encompassing, fully managed AI platform that enhances performance with a suite of software, services, and AI expertise tailored for evolving workloads. The NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD featuring the DGX GB300 systems offers a turnkey solution for deploying AI factories.
On the other hand, the NVIDIA HGX B300 NVL16 delivers significantly faster inference on large language models—11 times faster than previous generations—along with a 7-fold increase in compute power and a 4-fold expansion in memory. Such enhancements are crucial for handling the most complex workloads, including advanced AI reasoning.
Applications in Agentic and Physical AI
The Blackwell Ultra platform is not only a boon for traditional AI applications but also paves the way for innovation in agentic and physical AI. Agentic AI involves sophisticated reasoning and iterative planning, allowing AI systems to autonomously solve complex, multistep problems by reasoning, planning, and taking actions to achieve specific goals.
Physical AI, on the other hand, enables companies to generate synthetic, photorealistic videos in real-time, which is essential for training applications like robotics and autonomous vehicles on a large scale.
Optimized AI Infrastructure with NVIDIA Spectrum-X
An essential feature of any AI infrastructure is its networking capabilities, and the Blackwell Ultra systems excel in this area. They seamlessly integrate with NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet and NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand platforms, each offering 800 Gb/s of data throughput per GPU. This integration, facilitated by the NVIDIA ConnectX®-8 SuperNIC, provides exceptional remote direct memory access capabilities, enabling AI factories and cloud data centers to operate AI reasoning models without experiencing bottlenecks.
The inclusion of NVIDIA BlueField®-3 DPUs further enhances the system by enabling multi-tenant networking, GPU compute elasticity, accelerated data access, and real-time cybersecurity threat detection.
Anticipated Global Adoption of Blackwell Ultra
The rollout of Blackwell Ultra-based products is expected to begin in the latter half of 2025, with major technology leaders like Cisco, Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Lenovo, and Supermicro leading the charge. These companies are anticipated to offer a wide range of servers based on Blackwell Ultra technology, alongside other notable players such as ASRock Rack, ASUS, Eviden, Foxconn, GIGABYTE, Inventec, Pegatron, Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT), Wistron, and Wiwynn.
Cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, along with GPU cloud providers like CoreWeave, Crusoe, Lambda, Nebius, Nscale, Yotta, and YTL, will be among the first to offer instances powered by Blackwell Ultra technology.
NVIDIA Dynamo: Reducing AI Bottlenecks
Complementing the hardware advancements, NVIDIA has introduced the NVIDIA Dynamo open-source inference framework. This software innovation is designed to scale up reasoning AI services, significantly enhancing throughput while reducing response times and model serving costs. The NVIDIA Dynamo framework optimizes token revenue generation for AI factories deploying reasoning AI models by orchestrating and accelerating inference communication across thousands of GPUs. It employs disaggregated serving to separate and optimize the processing and generation phases of large language models, ensuring efficient GPU resource utilization.
The Blackwell systems are well-suited for running the new NVIDIA Llama Nemotron Reason models and the NVIDIA AI-Q Blueprint, both supported within the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform. This platform offers a comprehensive suite of AI frameworks, libraries, and tools that enterprises can deploy across NVIDIA-accelerated clouds, data centers, and workstations.
