Caterpillar Unveils Mini-Excavator Equipped with AI Assistant

Caterpillar, a leading manufacturer of construction equipment, has introduced the Cat 306 CR mini-excavator, weighing just under eight tons. This compact machine is designed to fit inside a standard shipping container, making it ideal for tight job sites such as utility trenches near foundations or basement digs in dense neighborhoods.

The cab of the Cat 306 CR is small, comparable to a phone booth, with the operator sitting close to the controls. Operating this machine requires skill and practice due to the multiple functions controlled by two joysticks. However, Caterpillar has integrated artificial intelligence technology into this mini-excavator to enhance its capabilities.
