To mark the beginning of 2025, they have exciting news: Version 5.3, titled “Incandescent Ode of Resurrection,” is set to launch on January 1. This new update invites players to join forces with Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, and Citlali to engage in the climactic battles against the Abyss that threatens the region of Natlan.
As the people of Natlan rally together to shift the tides of their prolonged war, the citizens of Liyue come together for the annual Lantern Rite festival to welcome the New Year. During this festive occasion, players will encounter a new character, Lan Yan, along with many familiar faces, all eager to light up the night sky with the iconic Xiao Lanterns.
To enhance the celebratory mood, numerous rewards await players. These include 1,600 Primogems and the new glider, “Wings of Fate’s Course Intertwined,” which can be claimed through in-game mail. Additionally, players can earn Intertwined Fate ×10 via a daily login event, a free 4-star Liyue character by completing the Lantern Rite event, and a fresh outfit for Xiangling by accumulating Festive Fever during the event.
### Blaze a Radiant Path, Burn Away the Shadowy Swaths
With a brief pause behind us, the stage is set for the final showdown. Warriors, fortified by the guidance and protection of the Ode of Resurrection, will stand firm against the creatures emerging from the Abyss in the latest Archon Quest Chapter V: Act V, “Incandescent Ode of Resurrection.” Alongside Mavuika, Citlali, and other brave warriors, every ounce of effort, including the formidable power of the Ruler of Death, will be dedicated to dispelling the darkness that threatens to engulf the land, irrespective of the cost. Notably, the power of Pyro will finally be bestowed upon the Traveler at a crucial juncture.
To bolster your combat capabilities for this ultimate battle, journey to the cave near the Masters of the Night-Wind. Here, you will confront the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker, a formidable Boss who possesses the ability to move swiftly and create multiple clones during combat.
Once you have demonstrated your prowess, another daunting Weekly Boss awaits — the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire, the Abyssal Mimic Dragon. Interestingly, the Pyro Traveler may find unexpected advantages in this confrontation.
### The Radiant Sun and Obsidian Star
In the forthcoming legendary conflict, two remarkable women may join your party as 5-star playable characters: Mavuika, the Pyro Archon and a claymore wielder, and Citlali, the most potent shaman of her tribe and a Cryo catalyst user. Both characters illuminate the paths of their people with centuries of wisdom, exploration, expertise, and combat prowess.
Mavuika’s journey from a young girl of the Scions of the Canopy to the Pyro Archon who shines and safeguards all of Natlan like the sun has never been straightforward. Yet, she has remained steadfast. Upon completing the latest Archon Quest, Mavuika’s Story Quest will be unlocked.
In battle, Mavuika can crush her adversaries with her claymore or charge into combat on her Flamestrider, a unique construct in Teyvat. Her Elemental Skill allows her to summon the All-Fire Armaments, which can assume two forms. By tapping to cast “Divine Name Unleashed,” the Armaments transform into Rings of Searing Radiance, following Mavuika or the active character and dealing continuous Nightsoul-aligned Pyro Damage (DMG). Alternatively, holding the skill unleashes Ancient Name Unbound, converting her All-Fire Armaments into the Flamestrider. When Mavuika mounts the Flamestrider, she can inflict Pyro DMG on opponents in her path. Additionally, if nearby party members strike opponents with their Normal Attacks or consume Nightsoul points, she can accumulate Fighting Spirit. Once her Fighting Spirit surpasses a certain threshold, she can use her Elemental Burst to enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, riding her Flamestrider to execute a powerful Area of Effect (AoE) Pyro attack. With her Elemental Burst, Mavuika will also access the Crucible of Death and Life state, enhancing her abilities and making her more resistant to interruption.
The Flamestrider is not merely a weapon but also a versatile exploration tool. Equipped with a concealed backup propulsion module, it allows Mavuika to scale cliffs, traverse rugged terrain and waters, and glide in mid-air. Moreover, having Mavuika in your party will reduce the party’s Nightsoul Transmission cooldown by 20%. The Flamestrider blazes across the land, unrestrained and proud, a tribute to her indomitable spirit. Carried on the wind, the memory of a young woman’s confident words lingers: “I can shoot those cornflakes in your kitchen from right here.”
### Citlali’s Command of the Night
While the sun shines brilliantly, the stars never cease to glow at night. As the most formidable shaman of the Masters of the Night-Wind, Citlali has the ability to perceive changes in the Ley Lines and sense the wounds that stretch across all of Natlan from their prolonged war with the Abyss. Due to the damage endured by the Night Kingdom during the war, she has been assisting the lost wandering souls who can no longer return to it. In her leisure time, the esteemed “Granny Itztli” prefers to reside alone in her remote home, surrounded by light novels and snacks. She is also accompanied by her little companions Itzpapa and Citlalin, who not only offer comfort as cushions and pillows but also provide various forms of support during combat and exploration.
In battle, Citlali can deploy shields and summon Itzpapa with her Elemental Skill. When her Nightsoul points surpass a certain amount, Itzpapa will deal AoE Cryo DMG to nearby opponents. Her Elemental Burst summons both little companions and creates a Spiritvessel Skull. When the skull detonates, it will deal Nightsoul-aligned Cryo DMG and restore a fixed number of Nightsoul points to Citlali. Additionally, when Citlali is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, enemies hit by Frozen or Melt reactions will have reduced Pyro and Hydro Resistance (RES). She can maintain her Nightsoul’s Blessing state to bolster the party when you switch to other characters in battle.
### Team Up for Another Year of Adventure
Beyond the borders of Natlan, the atmosphere in Liyue is warm and harmonious as its inhabitants prepare for the Lantern Rite and the arrival of the New Year. In the bustling streets of Liyue, players may encounter a new character, Lan Yan, an Anemo catalyst user, alongside many familiar characters, some of whom will debut with fresh appearances in the upcoming update.
The new 4-star character, Lan Yan, is a descendant and heir of the renowned Qimen Arts. She is a graceful and agile artisan, celebrated as a master craftsman in the Chenyu Vale Artisans Association. In combat, Lan Yan wields the Swallow-Wisp Shield, a secret art handed down through her family for generations. When she dashes forward and strikes a target, she leaps backward into the air. Moreover, this dash attack alters the Elemental Type of her shield to Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro, enabling it to absorb the corresponding Elemental DMG and deal the corresponding Elemental DMG in return.
For Version 5.3 Event Wishes, the first phase will spotlight the debuts of Mavuika and Citlali, while the second phase will include reruns of Arlecchino and Clorinde, along with the debut of Lan Yan.
To recruit more characters from Liyue, players can fulfill special festival requirements to invite one free 4-star Liyue character, including Lan Yan. Additionally, some 5-star Liyue characters, such as Ganyu and others, can be obtained through a new round of Chronicled Wish.

Meeting friends is always exhilarating, and participating in enjoyable events amplifies the joy. During Lantern Rite, try the mini-game Custom Gift Envelope to design envelopes tailored to your companions’ unique preferences. Additionally, don’t forget to create envelopes filled with wishes for friends, family, or other Travelers, sealing your thoughts and memories into these tokens of affection. Also, try out Immortal Combat, a Tetris-like game that allows you to use Rattan Figures to gain buffs and defeat opponents. Alternatively, engage in Drills by Lamplight, where you utilize strategies during battle to boost your score. Dive into these mini-games and gather more Festive Fever to unlock a trove of exciting rewards, including Xiangling’s new outfit, New Year’s Cheer.
