NewsMLB The Show 25 unveils fresh gameplay and features

San Diego Studio is delighted to offer fans a sneak peek at the much-anticipated MLB The Show 25, which is set to launch on March 18. As the franchise celebrates its 20th anniversary, the developers have focused on enhancing fan-favorite modes such as Road To The Show and introducing exciting new features like the Diamond Quest mode in Diamond Dynasty. Alongside these updates, improving gameplay remains a top priority, ensuring that players have the best possible experience.

Road To The Show

Embark on your Road To The Show journey by participating in a few games during your High School years and progressing to more games during your College years in the Amateur Years segment. This mode allows you to fully customize your player, giving you the freedom to develop your ballplayer in any way you desire. A new attribute progression system has been introduced to offer more control over your player’s development, including the ability to craft Perks that suit your gameplay style. Experience authentic audio from High School and College games, complete with the sounds of metal bats and chain-link fences. Additionally, RTTS/Player Lock will now feature a range of new Impact Plays and Quick Time Events for all positions and baserunners, adding a new layer of excitement to the game.

Franchise Mode

In the revamped Franchise mode, your decisions are more significant than ever. The choices you make will have real consequences, and time management becomes crucial as you navigate a revitalized Free Agency system. This system introduces elements of risk and reward, making the pursuit of top free agents an exhilarating experience each offseason.

Expanded Diamond Dynasty

MLB The Show 25 will not include the Sets and Seasons feature from previous versions. Instead, Diamond Dynasty introduces two new modes: Diamond Quest, a board game-like mode with risk-and-reward elements, and Weekend Classic, a highly competitive multiplayer mode with some of the best rewards available. Fans can earn top rewards in their preferred modes throughout the year, and the new Team Affinity Programs will serve as the primary destination for unlocking items and players unique to each MLB team.

Gameplay Improvements and ShowTech Expansion

The game includes hundreds of new animations for enhanced realism, presenting new features such as Rob HR’s, Hot Shot catches, on-the-run catches, and tags. A new G.O.A.T. difficulty level offers players the ultimate challenge, while the all-new ambush hitting provides a more realistic approach at the plate. A new Reaction Time System has also been introduced for defense, improving the overall gameplay experience.

Storylines: The Negro Leagues Season 3

Celebrate the rich history of baseball with Storylines, where you can play as some of the most famous and forgotten legends of the Negro Leagues and learn about their incredible journeys. The third season of Storylines will feature narration by Bob Kendrick, president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and will include a new roster of legendary players.

The Gameplay Trailer offers a glimpse into these exciting new features, updates to beloved modes, and introduces three new Legends. If you missed anything, don’t worry—there’s plenty more to come.
