Europe’s AI Revolution: NVIDIA’s Vision for an Intelligent Future
At the recent GTC Paris event, held in conjunction with VivaTech, Europe’s eminent tech gathering, NVIDIA’s founder and CEO Jensen Huang delivered a compelling keynote that underscored Europe’s pivotal role in the global AI landscape. Huang emphasized that Europe is not merely integrating AI into its technological framework but is actively constructing the very foundation of AI innovation.
Jensen Huang’s address highlighted the emergence of a new industry—an AI industry—which he referred to as the "intelligence infrastructure." This infrastructure is poised to become an indispensable component for nations and societies worldwide. Speaking to a vast audience both online and at the historic Dôme de Paris, Huang outlined how Europe is setting the stage for an AI-driven future, encompassing everything from surging inference growth to quantum advancements, and from infrastructure to the burgeoning fields of agentic AI and robotics.
A New Industrial Revolution
Central to this transformation are advanced systems like the GB200 NVL72, described by Huang as "one giant GPU" and NVIDIA’s most potent AI platform to date. This system, now in full production, is set to power a wide array of applications, from sovereign models to quantum computing. Huang elaborated on the design philosophy behind these machines, emphasizing their capacity for reasoning and planning.
He further revealed that NVIDIA’s partners are currently producing 1,000 GB200 systems weekly, marking the inception of a new technological era. The range of available systems includes the compact DGX Spark and the versatile rack-mounted RTX PRO Servers.
Huang articulated NVIDIA’s commitment to assisting countries in building both AI infrastructure—services designed for third-party use and innovation—and AI factories, which companies can leverage for their own revenue generation.
NVIDIA’s collaboration with European governments, telecommunications companies, and cloud providers aims to deploy its technologies throughout the region. Additionally, NVIDIA is expanding its network of technology centers across Europe, with new hubs in Finland, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the U.K., to foster skills development and quantum innovation.
Quantum Meets Classical
Europe’s quantum aspirations have received a significant boost with the launch of the NVIDIA CUDA-Q platform, now operational on Denmark’s Gefion supercomputer. This development opens new avenues for hybrid AI and quantum engineering. Furthermore, Huang announced the availability of CUDA-Q on NVIDIA Grace Blackwell systems, reinforcing NVIDIA’s commitment to advancing hybrid quantum-AI research and expediting quantum error correction.
Huang stated, "Quantum computing is reaching an inflection point," highlighting the potential of quantum and classical computing to address intriguing challenges in the coming years.
Sovereign Models, Smarter Agents
European developers are increasingly seeking greater control over their models. NVIDIA Nemotron offers a solution by enabling the construction of large language models tailored to regional needs. Huang assured the audience of access to an enhanced open model that remains at the forefront of technological innovation.
These models are set to be incorporated into Perplexity, a reasoning search engine, facilitating secure, multilingual AI deployment across Europe. This integration allows users to pose questions and receive answers in their native language and cultural context.
Huang also touched upon the future, stating that every company will soon be building its own AI agents. To support this endeavor, NVIDIA introduced a suite of agentic AI blueprints, including an Agentic AI Safety blueprint for enterprises and governments.
The new NVIDIA NeMo Agent toolkit and AI Blueprint for creating data flywheels further aid in the development of safe, high-performing AI agents. To facilitate the deployment of these agents, NVIDIA is collaborating with European governments and cloud providers to implement the DGX Cloud Lepton platform across the region. This platform offers immediate access to accelerated computing resources.
Huang added, "One model architecture, one deployment, and you can run it anywhere," noting that Lepton is now integrated with Hugging Face, granting developers direct access to global computing capabilities.
The Industrial Cloud Goes Live
AI extends beyond the virtual realm, powering physical systems and sparking a "new industrial revolution." Huang described NVIDIA’s work with numerous companies to build digital twins using NVIDIA Omniverse, highlighting efforts with partners across Europe.
To advance this initiative, NVIDIA announced the establishment of the world’s first industrial AI cloud in Germany, aimed at enabling European manufacturers to simulate, automate, and optimize at scale.
Huang also hinted at the future of robotics, asserting, "Soon, everything that moves will be robotic. And the car is the next one."
NVIDIA DRIVE, the company’s comprehensive autonomous vehicle platform, is now in production to expedite the deployment of safe, intelligent transportation systems. Huang showcased the partnership with DeepMind and Disney to develop Newton, the world’s most advanced physics training engine for robotics, and introduced Grek, a small robot, to illustrate the potential of future AI technologies.
The Next Wave
Huang concluded by discussing the next wave of AI evolution, which he described as exponential. "We have physical robots, and we have information robots. We call them agents," he explained. The technology required to teach a robot to manipulate and simulate is now within reach.
This new era is driven by a dramatic increase in inference workloads. Huang noted that the number of inference users has skyrocketed from 8 million to 800 million in just a few years. To address this demand, he emphasized the need for a new class of computers designed specifically for thinking and reasoning, embodied by the Blackwell systems.
These systems will reside in a new generation of data centers—AI factories—designed to generate tokens, the building blocks of modern intelligence. Huang humorously remarked to Grek, "These AI factories are going to generate tokens. And these tokens are going to become your food, little Grek."
The keynote concluded with a bold vision for the future: a world powered by sovereign infrastructure, agentic AI, robotics, and exponential inference, all in collaboration with Europe.
