Digital Displays with Minimal Power Use: A New Era in Screen Technology

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest range of commercial displays, which integrate advanced AI features to enhance efficiency and collaboration. This announcement was made at the prestigious Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025 event. A key highlight is the Samsung Color E-Paper, which promises to revolutionize energy efficiency in digital displays. The integration of AI in SmartThings Pro and the Interactive Display further boosts the intelligence, control, and utility of these business-oriented screens. Another standout feature is the mammoth 115-inch Smart Signage screen, which offers an immersive visual experience that is sure to captivate audiences.

Samsung Color E-Paper: A Leap in Energy Efficiency and Flexibility

The Samsung Color E-Paper (EMDX model) is a groundbreaking innovation that combines digital ink with full-color e-paper technology to create an ultra-low power, lightweight, and slim display. This makes it an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional paper and analog promotional materials. Despite its reduced power consumption, the Color E-Paper does not compromise on visibility or functionality, making it ideal for businesses.

The EMDX model employs advanced digital ink technology that allows it to operate at an impressive 0.00 watts when displaying static images. This is a significant reduction in energy use compared to conventional digital signage, leading to substantial cost savings. The design is sleek and lightweight, making installation a breeze. It comes in various sizes, including 13-inch (1600×1200), 25-inch (3200×1800), 32-inch QHD (2560×1440), and a 75-inch 5K (5120×2880) version for outdoor use, catering to diverse business requirements.

To enhance connectivity and ease of use, the Color E-Paper is equipped with a rechargeable 5000mAh battery, two USB-C ports for charging and data transfer, 8GB of memory, and supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For seamless device management, a dedicated mobile app allows users to remotely control displays, schedule wake-up and sleep times, and set playlists with predefined intervals. Samsung’s Visual Experience Transformation (VXT) further simplifies content management by optimizing content visibility and ensuring accuracy before deployment.

Businesses can also integrate their own solutions through Tizen Enterprise APIs, which facilitate easy incorporation with existing management systems. In line with Samsung’s commitment to sustainability, over 50% of the Color E-Paper’s cover is made from recycled plastics, and the packaging is entirely paper-based.

AI-Enhanced Features in SmartThings Pro and Interactive Display

Samsung’s SmartThings Pro platform, designed for business-to-business (B2B) management, has been upgraded with AI and automation features to improve operational efficiency. One of its notable features is the Interactive View, which uses AI to convert 2D floor plans into 3D images, making it easier for businesses to understand and navigate their spaces. This feature significantly enhances the management of connected devices.

SmartThings Pro also introduces advanced automation controls that allow businesses to adjust settings such as power, volume, and brightness based on conditions like ambient lighting, room occupancy, and store hours. This automation not only saves time but also ensures devices are optimized for their specific environments. When utilized on displays, SmartThings Pro facilitates smooth switching between content streams, enabling users to change channels or input sources effortlessly.

Security is also a priority, with Samsung Smart Signage incorporating CryptoCore, a FIPS 140-3-certified encryption module that protects sensitive authentication data for IoT connections, ensuring secure device interactions. At ISE, Samsung also showcased the 2025 Interactive Display (WAFX-P model), which runs on Android OS 15 and includes new AI capabilities to enhance educational and collaborative opportunities. The WAFX-P model features Circle to Search, which allows users to search for images or translate text directly on-screen, and AI Summary, which automatically generates concise recaps of lectures or meetings.

Immersive Experience with Supersized 4K Smart Signage

Samsung’s 115-inch 4K Smart Signage (QHFX model) is setting new standards in large-scale displays, offering businesses innovative ways to engage audiences with striking visuals. Building on the success of the previous 105-inch QPDX-5K model, which was optimized for video conferencing with a 21:9 aspect ratio, the new 115-inch QHFX provides greater versatility with a 16:9 aspect ratio and multi-view functionality that supports up to four split windows. This makes it perfect for a variety of applications, from meeting rooms to high-end retail environments requiring premium display solutions.

The QHFX model eliminates visible borders commonly found in traditional video walls, offering an uninterrupted visual experience that captivates viewers and enhances the ambiance of any setting. With QLED 4K resolution, 700 nits of maximum brightness, and Tizen OS 8.0, it delivers vibrant visuals and smooth performance. The QHFX is compatible with SmartThings Pro and Samsung VXT, offering user-friendly features like a built-in handle for easy installation and VESA compatibility, providing businesses with flexibility and convenience.

Samsung’s latest innovations in digital displays not only meet the market’s demand for energy efficiency and easy device management but also cater to the public’s desire for immersive experiences.
