Sea of Thieves Season 15: Discover New Voyages and Creatures

NewsSea of Thieves Season 15: Discover New Voyages and Creatures

In an exciting turn of events for Sea of Thieves fans, the latest update for the popular pirate adventure game introduces a significant expansion to The Hunter’s Call. This update, part of Season 15, promises to elevate the pirate experience with new challenges and rewards. Players will find themselves embarking on thrilling pursuits of hunting and fishing, while also encountering formidable new adversaries. The seas are about to become even more treacherous, and here is what you need to know about this exhilarating update.

The Evolution of The Hunter’s Call

Season 15 marks an exciting chapter for The Hunter’s Call, a Trading Company known for its focus on fishing and hunting. Initially introduced in the Anniversary Update of 2019, The Hunter’s Call sets itself apart with its unique emphasis on maritime pursuits. Until now, players have been able to advance to rank 50 by delivering fish and meat to Hunter’s Call representatives at Seaposts, or alternatively to the Sovereigns on their behalf.

The latest update introduces a major expansion for The Hunter’s Call. The reputation cap is now elevated to 100, offering players a new horizon of progression. Additionally, five levels of Distinction have been added, allowing players to unlock exclusive themed cosmetics as they progress. This move aligns The Hunter’s Call with other Trading Companies, providing a more comprehensive experience for dedicated pirates.

Moreover, players can now raise a Hunter’s Call Emissary Flag, which increases the rewards for treasure handed over. However, this comes with the risk of becoming a target for any lurking Reapers. The update also introduces new Fishing and Raid Voyages, offering players the chance to acquire Company-specific loot. Among these treasures are exotic fish, known as Treasured Fish, which promise to make the pirates who catch them incredibly wealthy.

Introducing the Mighty Megalodons

Adding to the peril of the high seas, two new, formidable Ancient Megalodons have emerged. These monstrous creatures have crossed over from the Sea of the Damned, bringing with them a level of danger previously unseen. They are not your everyday sharks; these beasts are exceptionally powerful and pose a significant threat to any pirate ship daring to confront them.

The first of these creatures is the Feared Redmaw, a terrifying entity rising from the fiery depths. It is armed with a devastating explosive attack that can set ships ablaze. To combat this threat, pirates should ensure their water barrels are full, ready to extinguish any fires that might break out. The second formidable foe is the Barnacled Dread, an armour-plated Megalodon that uses Eel-ectric invasions to spawn Ocean Crawlers onto attacking ships. Pirates must repel these boarders while using their cannons to chip away at the creature’s coral armour before they can strike it directly.

The rewards for defeating these monsters are substantial, but locating them can be challenging. Hunter’s Call Emissaries have an advantage, as ships flying a Grade 5 Emissary Flag can track the Ancient Megalodon locations using their Map Table, enabling them to sail directly into battle.

New Gear and Rewards

As with every new Season, players can earn up to 100 levels of Renown, unlocking a host of rewards along the way. This includes themed cosmetics such as the Hungering One Hunter’s clothing, along with gold, Doubloons, and Ancient Coins. Those who purchase a Plunder Pass will also gain access to the Dynasty of the Deep collection, along with an additional 750 Ancient Coins.

In addition, the Pirate Emporium introduces the luxurious Rococo set this month. This collection invites players to embrace the finest historical fashion, offering a ship set complete with optional Collector’s items, weapons, costumes, and makeup. For those with a culinary flair, the Culinary Cadet Emote Bundle offers four cooking-themed emotes to get into the spirit of maritime gastronomy.

Looking Forward

While the initial launch of Season 15 brings a wealth of new features, not everything will arrive at once. Monthly updates in March and April will introduce further features aligned with the hunting theme, as hinted at in the Season 15 launch trailer.

In the coming months, players can expect to wield a new throwable hunting spear, particularly effective in taking down wild beasts. Additionally, there will be a noticeable increase in the variety of ambient wildlife encountered during voyages. Among these creatures, some less passive wild boars will appear across the islands, each protecting their own stash of loot.

To manage the lively wildlife, The Hunter’s Call will offer new Hunting Voyages. These will challenge pirates to pursue a ferocious Grand Boar or follow the trail of a rampaging Megalodon wreaking havoc across the seas. To keep abreast of all the exciting changes and updates, players should regularly check the monthly release notes available on the official Sea of Thieves website.

The expansion of The Hunter’s Call in Season 15 promises to enhance the Sea of Thieves experience, offering new challenges, rewards, and adventures for pirates. As the seas become more perilous and the opportunities more rewarding, players have much to look forward to in the latest chapter of their seafaring journey.
