EA Sports Collaborates on Field the Future Initiative with Xbox, San Francisco 49ers, and Gamers Outreach
In a remarkable effort to uplift young football enthusiasts and gamers, EA Sports has joined forces with Xbox, the San Francisco 49ers, and Gamers Outreach. This collaboration is part of the annual Field the Future event, which focuses on providing young athletes and Madden gamers with the necessary resources and opportunities to enhance their skills, knowledge, and passion for the sport. The initiative also aims to demonstrate that there are multiple pathways to a future in football, whether on the field or within the gaming industry.
Empowering Youth Through Football and Gaming
The Field the Future event kicked off with the deployment of fifteen custom video game kiosks—known as Gamers Outreach Karts (GO Karts)—to the UCSF Health System, including the San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital. These portable gaming units, equipped with Xbox consoles, controllers, and a variety of video games, are designed to provide entertainment and therapeutic activities to hospitalized children. The kiosks are expected to facilitate approximately 43,000 gaming sessions annually, offering young patients a chance to experience the healing power of play during their medical treatments.
A Day of Learning and Fun at EA Sports
The festivities continued on January 28, when EA Sports hosted an engaging event at their Redwood Shores office. The gathering welcomed 150 flag football players and 50 young patients from the Children’s Hospital. Participants were immersed in an educational and fun-filled day, exploring the future of gaming and technology through two informative sessions conducted by EA’s development team. The event also featured a panel discussion with Kristin Juszczyk and Andrea Hopelain, EA Sports’ Senior Vice President.
The highlight of the day was an opportunity for the attendees to engage in flag football drills and scrimmages, led by San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk and 49ers legend Larry Grant. This hands-on experience allowed the young athletes and gamers to hone their skills in a supportive environment.
Exciting Prizes and Upcoming Game Releases
As a token of appreciation, each participant received a custom Madden Xbox controller and a month-long subscription to Game Pass Ultimate. Additionally, four fortunate winners were awarded brand-new Surface Pro devices. These incentives not only fostered excitement among the attendees but also paved the way for further engagement with EA Sports’ offerings.
In line with the event, EA Sports Madden NFL 25 is set to launch on the Play List for EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members on February 6, 2025. This release allows players to dive into the game and experience its innovative features, such as FieldSense and Boom Tech, which include advanced tackling systems and enhanced controls for ball carriers. The game also boasts updated visuals, multiple commentary teams, and realistic NFL gameplay modes.

For gaming enthusiasts, EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offer an array of benefits, including unlimited access to a collection of top EA titles, early trials of new games, and in-game member rewards.
