Welcome to Genshin Impact’s Version 5.4: "Moonlight Amidst Dreams"

Happy New Year to all Genshin Impact enthusiasts! As we step into 2025, the developers of this beloved game have an exciting announcement for you. The much-anticipated Version 5.4, titled "Moonlight Amidst Dreams," is set to be released on February 12th. This update promises to whisk players back to the electrifying region of Inazuma, where a grand celebration, the Mikawa Flower Festival, awaits. This event is not just a festival; it’s a magical gathering that brings together both humans and mythical creatures known as youkai under the enchanting moonlit sky of Inazuma.

A Festival Celebrating the Union of Youkai and Humans

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Mt. Yougou in Inazuma, the Mikawa Flower Festival shines brighter than ever this year. Historically, it was a significant event for youkai, but over time it has transformed into a vibrant celebration that welcomes both youkai and humans. This festival is a blend of ancient traditions and new friendships, making it an unforgettable experience. A highlight of this year’s festival is the introduction of a unique event called the "48-hour Game Development Competition." It’s a thrilling new addition where Raiden Shogun will make a special appearance, rumored to be investigating a mysterious nightmare involving an old acquaintance.

In this captivating competition, teams of humans and youkai have 48 hours to collaborate and create innovative games. Thanks to the magical Kitsune Meal, youkai can now communicate in human languages, allowing them to combine their mystical abilities with human creativity. This collaboration is bound to result in some exciting mini-games.

Featured Mini-Games

  • A Little Fox’s Daydream: Presented by Mizuki and Kokomi, this adventure game takes players through a series of shifting dreamscapes. A little fox must navigate between sweet dreams and nightmares to collect delicious fried tofu and reach its destinations.
  • Bunshin Phantasm: A strategic and teamwork-based challenge from Sayu, Yoimiya, and Kichiboushi. Players guide the adorable Muji-Muji Daruma, which mimic their movements, to activate pressure plates and unlock new paths to victory.
  • Akitsu Harpastum: Dreams Doubled: Brought to you by Thoma and his youkai friends, this game is a creative fusion of the classic brick breaker game "Akitsu Yuugei" and elements of Mondstadt’s harpastum. It’s perfect for solo play or co-op fun, and players can earn Festival Stamps, which are exchangeable for exciting rewards, including the exclusive 4-star polearm, “Tamayuratei no Ohanashi.”

    Exploring Bathhouses and Dreams

In other festival news, the Aisa Bathhouse is introducing customized Mikawa Flower Festival-themed bathrobes, thanks to its major shareholder, the new 5-star character, Yumemizuki Mizuki. Mizuki is a yumekui-baku, a creature capable of consuming nightmares, and she uses this unique ability as a clinical psychologist to help her clients face their darkest fears. One of her clients is a Natlanese warrior suffering from severe afflictions after returning from the Night Warden Wars. Players will have the opportunity to visit the Aisa Bathhouse and experience Mizuki’s dream-altering treatments firsthand in her Story Quest.

    Mizuki’s Combat Abilities

In combat scenarios, Mizuki excels as a 5-star Anemo catalyst user. She is a versatile support character who combines Swirl Damage (DMG) and healing, making her a valuable asset in various team compositions. Her Elemental Skill, Dreamdrifter, allows her to float gracefully, dealing AoE Anemo DMG while boosting her team’s Swirl DMG. Mizuki can adjust her healing strategy based on her team’s status, and her Elemental Burst creates "Yumemi Style Special Snacks," which can heal or deal AoE Anemo DMG when picked up.

A unique feature of Mizuki is her ability to enhance healing by offering an additional 30% HP recovery when teammates use HP Recovery Dishes. While in the Dreamdrifter state, the range for picking up Yumemi Style Special Snacks is increased, making it easier to collect them during intense battles.

Upcoming Event Wishes and Familiar Faces

For Version 5.4’s Event Wishes, the first phase will introduce Yumemizuki Mizuki and feature a rerun of Sigewinne. The second phase will see the return of Furina and Wriothesley. Mizuki will also join the Standard Wish banner following the Version 5.5 update.

Apart from the festivities, players will have the chance to reconnect with old friends during their adventures. The new event, “Travelers’ Tales: Anthology Chapter,” allows players to encounter familiar faces in the open world. By following the anecdote icons on the map, players can catch up on what their old friends have been up to recently.

For combat enthusiasts, the “Realm of Tempered Valor” event introduces a series of challenges spanning 25 floors, which can be attempted solo or in Co-Op Mode. Achieving certain milestones will reward players with an exclusive Namecard.

    Quality of Life Updates

In addition to the exciting events and characters, the developers are implementing several optimizations to enhance the gaming experience. A new feature called Level-Up Plans will be added to the “Training Guide.” This allows players to set level-up goals, with the system calculating the necessary materials and their locations. This update will be reflected in key interfaces, including the Adventurer Handbook and Domain screens.

Crafting materials will also be easier to manage. Players can now teleport directly to the Crafting Bench using the “Craftable Amount” feature. Additionally, an Auto Add button will be introduced to the Weapon Refinement interface to streamline the process.

As you prepare to enjoy the Mikawa Flower Festival and the new adventures in Version 5.4, we hope you reconnect with old friends and make new memories. Dive into the festivities and dream sweetly of the enchanting world of Genshin Impact. We can’t wait to see you on your next big adventure!
