Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69 Introduces New Vehicles and Features
Polyphony Digital has rolled out its latest update for Gran Turismo 7, version 1.69, which includes the addition of three new vehicles: the high-performance Yangwang U9, the practical Renault Twingo, and the iconic Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau. This update is available starting today, April 23, at various times across global time zones.
New Vehicle Additions
The highlight of this update is undoubtedly the Yangwang U9, a supercar that boasts an impressive power output of 1,286 brake horsepower (BHP) from its four electric motors. Capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.36 seconds, the U9 challenges traditional notions of supercar performance. Developed by Yangwang, a luxury performance division of BYD, this vehicle employs a proprietary e⁴ platform and features cutting-edge technology like the DiSus-X suspension system, which combines hydraulic and pneumatic elements to enhance stability and control.
In contrast to the high-octane Yangwang U9, the Renault Twingo offers a more practical option for players. Launched in 1992 as an answer to the gap left by the Super 5’s discontinuation, this compact hatchback features a distinctive design with a transverse-mounted 1.2-liter inline-four engine. The Twingo is celebrated for its clever interior space optimization and innovative features such as sliding rear seats.
Lastly, the Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau from 1993 joins the lineup as one of the rarest models ever produced by Porsche. With only 86 units made, this car features a powerful 3.6-liter flat-six engine that delivers an exhilarating driving experience while maintaining classic Porsche styling.
Gameplay Enhancements
The update also introduces several gameplay enhancements aimed at improving user experience. A new menu has been added alongside three new World Circuits events: Schwarzwald League at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, Hypercar Parade at Yas Marina Circuit, and World Touring Car 900 at Autódromo de Interlagos.
Additionally, players can now adjust camera height in Scapes with the new “move the camera up and down III” feature. This enhancement allows for better customization when capturing stunning visuals within the game.
Power Pack Challenges and Extra Menus
The Power Pack mode has also received updates with new challenges that reward players based on their race completions during specific periods. Rewards will be refreshed weekly and can be tracked through various game interfaces.
An Extra Menu featuring Muscle Cars has been introduced for collectors at Level 55 and above. This addition expands players’ options for vehicle collection while enhancing engagement with different car categories.
Gran Turismo World Series Season Begins
The Gran Turismo World Series Season is set to kick off soon after this update. The first live event will take place in Milan on May 23 at Teatro Lirico, followed by subsequent rounds in Tokyo and Singapore later in the year. Fans unable to attend can catch all action through Gran Turismo’s official channels or in-game broadcasts.
What This Means
This latest update for Gran Turismo 7 not only enriches gameplay with exciting new vehicles but also enhances user engagement through improved features and competitive events. The introduction of high-performance cars like the Yangwang U9 alongside practical options such as the Renault Twingo caters to diverse player preferences while keeping excitement alive in both casual play and competitive racing environments.
