  2. In Hibernate mode, the PC runs on Zero Power. On the other hand, the PC consumes power to run on Sleep mode.

When should you use these modes?

  • Tap the Search icon on the taskbar.
  • In the Search box, type Control Panel.
  • Turn on hibernate mode on windows 11
  • Under the best match, Select Control Panel
  • Select System And Security from the various options given under Control Panel.

  • Then click on  Change What The Power Buttons Do under Power Options from the various options under System And Security

  • Below Define power buttons and turn on password protection, tap Change Settings that are currently unavailable.

  5. Click Change what the power buttons do under the Power Buttons on the System and Security screen.
  6. Click Change Settings that are currently unavailable under Define power buttons and turn on password protection
  7. Further, Deselect the box Next to Hibernate option under the Shutdown settings.
  8. Then Click on Save Changes
  9. Exit the Control Panel by clicking the Cross icon on the top-right corner of the screen.

Now, by clicking on the power button under Start Menu, you will notice that Hibernate option has been removed.

Hibernate Mode and Shut Down:

Hibernate mode is quite similar to Shut down. The key difference between the Hibernate mode and Shut Down is that Hibernate saves all your progress and work to a volatile memory before shutting down the desktop or laptop. But, when you shut down your PC without saving your works, you will not able to resume where you left off.
